Planning & Time Management

As students progress through their academic journey and take on more responsibilities, its imperative that they have an effective planning and time management system. This allows them to participate in more activities they enjoy while also reducing the stress and anxiety that comes with ongoing pressure and deadlines. We advise students to use planning tools that help them find balance while simultaneously developing their time management skills for college and beyond.

Study Skills

Learning how to effectively prepare for tests, quizzes, and presentations is a skill that many students complain they aren’t explicitly taught in high school and therefore are unprepared for in college. Using their current coursework, we prepare our students on how to approach different types of content-based exams, what effective studying looks like, and how to adjust their approach for varying types of assessments - all within the context of the rigor we know they are going to confront in college.

Self-Advocacy

Everyone faces moments where they have to self-advocate, whether in their academic or professional journey. Those who are able to advocate for themselves can overcome these challenges, leading to better outcomes. In our work with students, we teach them how to properly communicate and advocate for themselves with teachers, professors, and employers. This skill empowers them with confidence to proactively ask questions and seek help when needed.
